Teach Your Children to Avoid Abuse

 Important things to teach our children

-to think for themselves 

-think through the words and behaviors of others

– to listen to your own intuition

– feelings in your head and your body are always telling you something

-If something feels wrong it probably is

-If something does not make sense to you, then someone may be manipulating you.

-Balance is important in everything…especially relationships

-You do not have to pay now to benefit later in a relationship.  It is an idea the manipulative people want women to buy

-Everyone is not innately good, although many people are

-Don’t overlook things you do not like in a relationship just because you do not want to be alone

-Learn to be happy spending time alone

-You are worthy of being treated special

-Anyone who tells you that you cannot do better than them is lying

-You never deserve abuse

-If someone makes you feel bad a lot of the time, the relationship is not food for you

-Your self esteem is important and anyone who cares about you knows this

-No one should be condescending or sarcastic to you in a relationship

-There is “no time frame” for having to fall in love, get married or be committed

-Someone who loves you will not pressure you

-Someone who cares about you will not shame or guilt to manipulate you

-Punishments and retaliation are not part of a loving relationship

-You should not have to change for anyone

-No one is going to change for you

-There is no “point of no return” about leaving a relationship

-Another person does not make you “whole.” You are already complete.

-You don’t have to follow any path just because someone else wants you to.

Brain Fog From Narcissistic Abuse

If you are living in a domestic abuse situation, or living with a pathological narcissist, you might have the feeling you are existing in a fog. Your brain feels slow to process the world around you.

This brain fog state is caused by C-PTSD from mental abuse. Your mind is being intentionally manipulated and your cognitive processing is being slowed down.

Our brains are our own. They were not designed to tolerate other people intentionally, and systematically changing what we see, think, feel and perceive. The narcissist gets into your hard drive and loads viruses into your brain.

These viruses keep working continuously, even when the narcissist or psychopath is not presently with you.

This feeling of being in a fog, can last long after the abusive situation has ended. Your brain has conflicting programming, just like people who have been brainwashed by a cult.

The brainwashing tactics of the psychopathic narcissist are the same as the ones that have been used by cult leaders for so many years. Sleep deprivation, shared psychosis, and cognitive dissonance are just some of these methods.

You need to sleep. The sleep deprivation will keep your brain from being able to re-boot. You cannot begin to see clearly without enough sleep.

You need to take some control over some aspect of your life. Even if it is a small thing, like doing yoga before bed for 15 minutes, or taking a shower every other day at 7 pm, your brain needs to be told that you are the one driving the bus.

You need to calm down the fight-or-flight alarms. Yoga can help or any kind of physical activity you like. Calming activities that help you focus on the present moment, like coloring, crafts, hobbies, walking etc, can help.

Hypnosis for C-PTSD from narcissistic abuse can be very helpful. I have used this successfully with my life coaching clients.

The brain fog from narcissistic abuse is not something you can just snap out of. One of the reasons for it is that your brain is trying to protect you from further trauma. It is a kind of emotional shock that your brain is in.

Your senses have been dulled, in order to reduce the effects of any further traumatic events. The fight or flight mode also has another element, which is “freeze mode”.

This brain fog state is like a freeze mode that the brain goes into, because it senses danger and threat. Your brain is always trying to protect you, so be gentle and treat yourself with compassion and acceptance.

Beauty in the Mist

He sees her from afar

She is untouchable

Unreachable

Isolated by her captor

As if she is lost behind the mist

Of the darkness of a summer evening

Full of ominous clouds

Predicting disaster…

He would revel in her beauty

and femininity

If only

he could have the chance

to hold her

to cherish her

To keep her safe

from the monster she is with..

But she is lost in a maze

where all paths lead to pain..

He knows she has lost her way

He watches her suffering

but to no avail

She cannot see him

or hear his pleas to her

To leave the monster

She does not know

that he would love her

in ways

she cannot imagine she deserves

because she is being suffocated

by the monster…

the psychopath that

keeps her imprisoned

by manipulating her reality

She serves the very monster

That will ultimately destroy her

For no other reason 

Than to see if he can…

The end will come soon

With a bullet to her head

or a beating black and blue

When she finally sees 

That she should have left the monster

Long ago

Before it was too late
